Why one medicine has two prices
The money
The tablet
a few rupees
Everything else
most of the price
The printed price on a well-known brand pays for more than the medicine. It pays for the representatives who visit doctors, the advertising, the layers of distribution between the factory and the chemist.
A company that makes the same medicine and skips those costs can print a lower price on the box. The tablet inside is made to the same standard — that standard is set by law, not by the brand.
What "what you save" means
We compare the two per tablet, never per pack — a big jar against a small strip is not a real saving. The percentage beside the price is rounded down, so it never overstates. The yearly figure says which dose it assumes.
- Per tablet, not per pack
- Rounded down, never up
- The dose it assumes is written beside it
